Baby Feeding Questions

I have a 10 day old baby boy and am having some difficulties feeding him. He was 4.8kg (10lb 11 oz) when he was born and he has been starving hungry ever since he was born. We had some attachment problems, but he seems to be over that now.
My main problem is that he eats and eats and eats. 2 goes on each breast, at least. And he does that every hour or so. I've got a 14 month old girl as well, so this is not a helpful eating pattern, as I need the breaks to attend to her.

Any suggestions?

He is trying to establish a good supply or is having a growth spurt. My baby does that occasionally still and she is 8 weeks. I know how difficult it is! I have a 3.5 year old and a not quite 2 year old to tend to on top of nursing her. I nurse her in a sling during the day a lot so I can follow the other kids around.

I meant to say 'most likely' first!

Nursing him a lot should stimulate your milk supply and the problem should eventually resolve itself.
As long as he's not losing weight, I wouldn't worry about his health - although breastfed babies can lose weight for about a week after they're born and take until around 2 weeks to gain it back. So yours should be in the process of gaining it back, which might account for why he's so hungry.
The best suggestion at the moment is to ask for all the help you can get from friends and relatives.
